Season 2

The Grand Finale at Monte Carlo

After a long battle consisting of blinds and bluffs, the final table had three players left dueling to reach the jackpot. The chips counts were as follows:

Jeff Williams: 1.872 million

Arshad Hussain: 346,000

Aleksander Strandli: 772,000

Aleksander Strandli raised and Williams moved over the top. Strandli was taken aback but after a moment called, showing K8. It turned out to be a good hand against William’s QT. The board came out quickly, but all that remained to be seen was the ten on the river. Suddently, Strandli had lost his position in the race to the top and was eliminated in the third place with 251,000 euros.

Soon after came the ultimate hand of the tournament. Hussain got all in with A8 as opposed to Williams’ AT. As the board laid out a five, a nine, a seven, and a seven, the river card hit. Thankfully it was neither an eight nor a six. It was a much needed three that clinched the final deal for the 19 year old American lad who had stormed through an opposition of 300 players.

Jeff Williams, a freshman at the University of Georgia had won the European Poker Tour Grand Final taking home with him 900,000 euros.
